
Guidelines for Household Recycling
Disposal at all Ashe County Convenience Centers, Ashe County Landfill and Dogget Road Recycling Center.
The following items only go into “all-in-one” compactors — (Please do not bag your recyclables!)

Plastic (empty & rinse)
Recycling numbers 1 thru 7—Bottles, Tubs, Jugs and Jars (clear and non-clear )and clear plastic containers

Metal Cans (empty & rinse)
All Steel, Tin and Aluminum Cans — (drink cans, coffee cans, dog food cans, soup cans, etc.)
Metal or aluminum jar or bottle lids
(car oil and chemical cans only if fully rinsed—decontaminated)
(No aluminum foil, wire, or nails)

Paper
Newspaper and Magazines
Telephone book, Paperback books, Hard back books (cover must be torn off)
Office paper, Kraft paper, Paperboard, Paper bags
Cartons — (milk and food, shoe box, etc.)
Guidelines for other household Recycling
Disposal at all Ashe County Convenience Centers, Ashe County Landfill and Dogget Road Recycling Center
The following materials must be separated by type and put into the appropriate recycling bin:

Glass
Bottles and Jars — clear glass, brown glass, green glass only (no other colors)
(no glass from windows, baking dishes, drinking glasses, white or opaque glass)

Cardboard
Corrugated Cardboard only
(No Non-Corrugated cardboard)
Recycle at Retail Stores* (such as: Ingles, Food Lion, Walmart, and Lowes)

Plastic Bags* (plastic film only if it is indicated on recycling bin)
Guidelines for household Solid Waste
Disposal at all Ashe County Convenience Centers, Ashe County Landfill, (not at Dogget Road Recycling Center)
All household waste/trash (non-recyclable and non-hazardous waste) is to be placed in appropriate bins.
